Text Box: Completed November, 2008 - This is a 2,000 square foot d-log-sided mountain chalet with 2 bedrooms and 3 baths. This customer had seen one our previous homes and essentially asked us to build them a duplicate. So if this looks familiar, it’s because we’ve built this one before.
They even let us pick out all the fixtures and finishes, from the birch wood floor to the Cambria quartz kitchen counters to the hickory cabinets and even all the lighting and plumbing fixtures.
We threw in a few added features such as a built-in bay window seating area with storage (the bay was added to give the rear of the home some nice details since there wasn’t room on the lot to wrap the porch all the way around) and an extra 50 square foot reading nook upstairs with a beautiful mountain view. We also added a small, private open area off the rear corner of the deck for a cozy hot tub setting with views of the stars above.
Half way through the project, the customer changed their mind about a finished basement and we put together some quick estimates and were able to add this on for less than $40 per square foot additional cost.
